With beautiful beaches and fabulous scenery, this walker’s paradise offers walks for everyone. Stroll up the stream to Dolgoch Falls, venture further to the Upper Falls, ramble over the hills or take on the challenge of Cadair Idris.mountain bikes

Cyclists are well catered for here, with cycle hire available locally. 

From Dolgoch Station the Talyllyn Railway takes you to Tywyn for shopping or to enjoy a performance of the cinema’s Wurlitzer organ . Inland, Nant Gwernol has forest walks and a chance to explore the area’s industrial heritage. Many other heritage steam railways are within easy reach.

Explore romantic medieval castle ruins at Castell-y-Bere

Machynlleth, an ancient market town once home to Owain Glyndwr’s parliament , today hosts the famous Centre for Alternative Technology.

AberdyfiPretty Aberdyfi offers watersports, incuding sailing, and boat trips to meet the local dolphins.

RSPB Ynyshir has great opportunities for birdwatching. Don’t forget to look for Red Kite soaring over our Welsh woodlands too.

Local opportunities for river, sea or lake fishing abound. Talyllyn lake

Further afield, the elegant Victorian university town of Aberystwyth has great shopping and nightlife.
